Michael Matvieshen President and CEO
Mr. Matvieshen is the Vice-Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President of EPOD. He has served the role of Chief Executive Officer as his principal occupation since 2003. Prior to founding EPOD, he was President of Wolverine Resources Inc., an oil upgrading refinery owned by the venture capital firm SGGF. Mr. Matvieshen has also served as Vice-President of Gen5 Tech Corporation, in which he managed the construction, capital budgeting and start-up of an oil upgrading plant in Alberta. Mr. Matvieshen has extensive experience in the industrial water and oil treatment industries, in making fuels for diesel generators, and in making base oils for drilling and floating potash. He has been in the technology development business for the past 15 years, primarily as an entrepreneur and inventor. He has also been involved in land development and commercial build construction as an investor/owner for the past 23 years.
Satpal Sidhu COO
Prior to joining EPOD, Mr. Sidhu was the Dean of Professional Technical Education at Bellingham Technical College. Prior to serving in that position, Mr. Sidhu held senior managerial and vice president positions in several manufacturing-related businesses. He has over 30 years of professional experience in management of complex industrial operations, construction projects and enterprise management. In 2005, Mr. Sidhu was designated a Fulbright Scholar, and received a research grant under the Fulbright program. He is a licensed engineer and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science degree in math and physics and a Master’s of Business Administration.
Sass Peress President of Consumer Goods
Sass Peress has been the driving force behind ICP Solar since its inception in 1988. Prior to founding ICP Solar, Peress was the VP of Sales for a market-leading automotive accessory distributor. In 1985, he founded and headed an automotive aftermarket manufacturing company that went on to capture more than 70% of market share within two years. He then founded ICP Solar in 1988 and, as President and CEO, has reshaped the company into its current market-leading state within the solar energy industry. With his scientific background and manufacturing experience, he has co-authored much of ICP Solar’s intellectual property. Peress’ educational background includes studies in health sciences, organic chemistry and finance. He graduated with honors from Concordia University’s MBA International Business Program in Montreal, Canada.
Peress was recently a finalist in the Ernst & Young Canadian Entrepreneur of the Year competition and is an active member of the Canadian Solar Energy Society and the American Solar Energy Society. His enthusiasm and drive have been rewarded by ICP Solar’s success and its reputation as a leading solar energy enterprise.
